Accessibility for Patients with Disabilities, Impairment or Sensory Loss

Welshpool Medical Centre ensures that our patients with visual or sensory impairment can access our services on an equal basis. We endeavour to treat all our patients with any disability or impairment equally according to their needs, within the restraints of our buildings.

  • We offer text, email or an online booking option. We have a hearing loop at our reception areas.
  • We offer clear signage with good contrast.  Please bring a support person to your appointment or ask for our help.
  • We offer good lighting and contract, have tactile paving and a hand rail.
  • Disabled parking is available at the front of the Surgery.
  • Patient entry to the practice is through the front entrance with ramp access from the car park.
  • Access to the reception, waiting room, and consulting rooms is possible with a wheelchair.
  • An accessible toilet is located on the ground floor and is fitted with grab rails and an alarm.
  • Interpreters can be arranged on request.
  • We can offer a quiet area for patients with sensory processing difficulties.

Accessible Information Standard

Welshpool is our main surgery and holds the majority of our facilities although our branch surgery in Guilsfield has a well equipped consulting room. Both surgeries offer routine doctor’s appointments to patients within their respective area.

Both surgeries allow easy access for disabled patients.

Both surgeries have dispensaries where patients who live more than 1 mile away from a chemist can collect their medication.
