What is a Repeat Prescription?

A repeat prescription is set up by your GP to allow you to obtain certain medication(s) without having to see/speak to them. These are usually medications you are required to stay on long term for medical conditions that are monitored regularly by the practice.

The Practice Dispensary

If you live 1 mile away from a chemist (as the crow flies) you are able to obtain your repeat prescriptions from the practice dispensary in Welshpool or in our branch surgery in Guilsfield.

We are open from 9am-5pm Monday – Friday.

During the current Covid-19 pandemic, you can no longer request prescription by paper. Instead please order by phone on:

01938 557 600

or

01938 557 639

You may order through your chosen chemist as normal.

Dispensary Notice for Patients - Changes

The practice Team dispenses over 9000 items per month. Owing to the high volume of prescription requests, we are unable to continue to offer a 48 hour turn around service. In anticipation of your help we will be aiming to deal with requests within 5 working .

Your patience and co-operation is much appreciated.

Boots & Rowlands

If you live within a mile of either of these chemists you must nominate one to collect from where your repeat prescriptions will be sent from the practice to be dispensed.

You can still place your repeat prescription order at the practice, but please indicate on your repeat slip which chemist we are to send it to.

Medication Reviews

As long as you attend for reviews and check ups as agreed/invited by the practice then your repeat prescription will remain active.

You may receive a note with your repeat prescription indicating that you are overdue a review or check up. Your medication will not be stopped, but please make the necessary arrangements so your repeat prescription can be updated accordingly.
